Several women bought Betty's "Jiggi" quilt so that they could give it to the family at some point when they were united here in Boulder.
"At last, Jiggi and her mother are here! I went to meet them for the first
time on Wednesday. I came with a few small gifts, which were opened first.
Then I told Jiggi (who is now 5--and very bright) to hide her eyes for a
surprise. She did. I unrolled the quilt and told her to open them. When she
saw the quilt, she gave a great smile and said with glee, "It's me!!!" She
much admired her hair.
I think it's rather amazing because that photo was taken when she was about
2 1/2 and few 5-year-olds have that sort of recall.
Mama Jiggi was pleased too. She is much quieter than her daughter (who like
her father has a sparkling and out-there personality)."
